Where is the father?

"Look," said the elder brother. "How nice these paintings are!" 4 S9 w6 q6 d. x* ?$ \

"Yes," said the younger, "but in all these paintings there is only the mother and the children. Where is the father?"6 }% d z/ b! g1 C$ k
The elder brother thought for a moment and then explained, "Obviously he was painting the pictures."4 }3 Z/ u$ [7 r& J- D. R
